Blue River and Yoho are perfect for 7 to 10 days of luxury adventures:

Where to stay…

5* Albreda Lodge, at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing Resort in Blue River, BC, is perhaps the world’s premier luxury heli-skiing resort. Even in summer there is magical fresh powder and huge long descents. The 4.5* Cathedral Mountain Lodge in Yoho is a great summer option, providing a spectacular range of outdoor adventure pursuits from a luxurious wood-cabin base.

Some practical information worth knowing…

  • Travel: From Vancouver, there are weekly 2h direct flights to Blue River, or daily (1h) to Kamloops a 2.5h drive away. Yoho is 2.5-3h by car from Calgary (a 2h flight from Vancouver). Desolation Sound is <1h by helicopter from near Vancouver.
  • Weather: cold Nov-Mar and warm Apr-Oct, there is a lot of snow in the winter and some rain in summer.
