What it feels like to be there…

Slovenia is blessed with an amazing Alpine landscape, and the al-fresco gelateria in Ljubljana could just as easily be in Milan. This country is fascinating in its own right though, and ripe for adventure travel. Try rafting, climbing, canyoning, caving or lake swimming – or check out the amazing castles to get a feel for the local culture.

Some practical information worth knowing…

The country’s main airport is in the capital Ljubljana, and from there this pretty country is small enough to make travel overland both practical and pleasurable. Dress for warm, sunny days, but take a jacket to wrap up in for the Alpine evenings. Since joining the Eurozone, currency and visas are straightforward.
