Some practical information worth knowing…
Flights into the region typically land in Sydney, Melbourne or Auckland, but because of the wide geographical spread, all the big cities have international and regional airports these days.
The weather in the tropical north is hot and humid, and while it is dry further south, it only really gets cool up in the mountains.
English is the main language, but other European languages are not widely spoken because Japanese is the foreign language learnt in schools.
